What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Grace Place Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

The Bible Is Our Authority
The sole basis for our belief is the Bible, which is uniquely God-inspired, without error, and the final authority on all matters on which it speaks.
2 Timothy 3:16, Proverbs 30:5
The Trinity
As the Bible teaches, there is one God, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—each possessing all the attributes of deity.
Deuteronomy 6:4, Genesis 1:1-3, John 1:1-5, Genesis 1:26
We are God's Creation
God created humans to have fellowship with Him, but they defied God by sinfully going their own way. As a result, we need God’s saving grace to end our alienation from Him.
Genesis 1:26-31, Romans 5:12, Colossians 1:21-22
Salvation Is God's Free Gift
Salvation comes only through God’s grace—not human effort—and must be received personally by repentance and faith.
Romans 10:9, 2 Peter 1:3
Jesus Died For Us
Jesus Christ, second Person of the Trinity, lived a sinless life on earth and voluntarily paid for our sin by dying on the Cross as our substitute. This accomplished salvation for all who receive grace by trusting in Him alone. He rose from the dead and is the only mediator between God and us. He baptizes believers in the Holy Spirit. He will return to earth to consummate history.
2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 15:20-22, John 3:16
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit draws sinners to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church.
John 16:7-11, 1 Corinthians 12:4-6, Galatians 5:22-23
The Church
The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need.
Acts 2:46-47, Philippians 2:4
Heaven and Hell Are Real
At the end, everyone will experience bodily resurrection and the judgment. Only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God.
Revelation 20:11-15, 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18
